Vegan Brownie Recipe

Yield: 9 brownies (8x8 inch pan)


Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1/2 cup granulated cane sugar

  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 salt

  • 1/2 cup apple sauce (acts as egg)

  • 1/4 cup maple syrup

  • 1/4 cup almond milk (or non-dairy milk)

  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1/4 cup vegan chocolate chips


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  2. put flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt into a bowl and whisk together

  3. in a separate bowl, mix together apple sauce, maple syrup, milk, coconut oil, and vanilla extract

  4. combine both bowls and mix together

  5. add chocolate chips and fold batter in

  6. grease a square 8x8 inch pan with solid coconut oil and a papertowel

  7. add batter into pan and bake for about 30 minutes, check periodically with a toothpick

  8. serve with vegan ice cream, vegan whipped cream, or fruit
